Photoshoot spots in Dubai that don't feel too "touristy"?

Hey everyone! I’m planning a trip to Dubai next month and really want to get some nice shots while I'm there. I’ve seen the usual Burj Khalifa and Mall photos a thousand times, but I’m looking for something a bit more authentic—maybe some hidden spots in the old town or specific desert locations that look great at sunset?

Also, if anyone has experience with local freelancers, is it better to book someone in advance or just find a photographer once I land? I’m a bit worried about the quality and the heat affecting the gear. Any advice from people who've actually done a shoot there would be awesome!

I had the exact same dilemma last year! Honestly, the desert at Al Qudra is stunning, but getting there and timing the light is tricky if you're doing it yourself.

I was actually venting about this on a travel group, and someone suggested I chat with the Dubai photographer crew. I wasn't looking for a big commercial production, just someone who knew the city's architecture and those quiet spots in the Al Fahidi district. They turned out to be super chill and really helped with the logistics, especially since they have their own equipment that handles the glare and heat way better than my iPhone did. It felt more like hanging out with locals who happened to have great cameras rather than a stiff, formal session. Definitely worth looking into them if you want something that feels more personal than the typical tourist snaps!
